Progressive was founded by Joseph M. Lewis and Jack Green in 1937. They initially established their headquarters in Mayfield Village, Ohio. Progressive specialises in many different sort of insurances. The company insures vehicles, motorcycles, RVs, trailers, boats and PWC. Progressive also provides life, home and pet insurance through a select number of companies.
Although Progressive never stood limited to U.S. only. They planned on spreading their brand internationally and quite successfully did so. They now offer auto insurance in Australia as well.
Progressive mainly offers its services through the internet or telephone. The staff of the company is filled with credible insurance agents. Progressive currently has more than 13 million policies active.
Progressive was also the first company to become a known name when they offered auto insurance online or by telephone. In 2007, the company introduced pet insurance that provided coverages whenever a pet got injured. If the pet gets harmed via a crash then no additional costs will incur. The costs will be covered through their Collision coverage program.
It gets its appreciation from all over the world for becoming the first company to offer auto insurance through policies placed on their website. Similarly, Progressive was the first to offer a 24/7 claim service. Something which many big companies haven’t developed yet and some are working on it.
