The OnePlus 10T phone is scheduled to be released on the 3rd of August. Here’s all that you need to know before buying it. Lets dive in!
We saw the first of ‘T’ series by OnePlus two years ago. In 2020 they released their OnePlus 8T. It was a decent device yet it failed to convince some people. Although with the arrival of OnePlus 10T, the company is looking to make amends for the previous events.
The 10T looks a powerful device by the looks of it. It will have Qualcomm’s recently released Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chip. The phone was revealed in two frontier colours. Moonstone Black and Jade Green.
Design And Display
As revealed by the company itself, the phone will come in two colour variants. Apart from that, the colour composition remains slightly different. The Moonstone Black colour will take a matte-ish tone. The colour was inspired by Basalt – a rock formed by the lava when it cools down. The Jade Green colour will follow a ceramic end.
A new sort of “crater” design was followed by OnePlus which will involve the mobile’s rear glass panel to collide with its camera system.
As confirmed by the company, OnePlus 10T will have a 6.7 inch display. Although a 120Hz refresh rate can also be anticipated. It might be slightly adjustable. The 10T will not look into uniqueness in this regard as OnePlus 10 Pro had a magnificent display panel. The same will be applied to 10T’s case.
The most shocking part is the surprise exclusion of the alert slider. The alert slider came in handy whenever the users didn’t want to receive annoying notifications. It didn’t involve the need to open settings at all. On the other hand, OnePlus confirmed that it was necessary to exclude it for a better battery plan. It was also necessary to remove it for the 5G connectivity.
Specs
OnePlus 10T will use the upgraded version of 10 Pro’s core. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus is ahead of 10 Pro’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The new Gen 1 Plus chip is quicker, efficient and more power-friendly.
OnePlus chose the slogan “Evolve Beyond Speed” for their new flagship so it might live up to that potential. However a massive upgrade from 10 Pro’s chip is not guaranteed. Although a silkier version can be expected.
Battery
No new additions at the battery front. OnePlus is going to use the same 5000 mAh battery as it did in OnePlus 10 Pro. But do keep in mind that the slight better Snapdragon version of 10T might deliver a better performance in terms of consumption.
Fast charging facilities will be laid out by OnePlus this time. The 10T is going to have two charging pumps compared to 10 Pro. This means that the charging will subsequently go from 80 Watts to a staggering 150 Watts.
Cameras
OnePlus has made a surprising decision with the camera brand this time. They decided to switch from Hasselblad to Sony. A 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor will be attached at the back. An 8MP ultrawide sensor is also expected. However, this might not look like a win for the users. The 10 Pro had a 48MP main sensor and 50MP ultrawide. Its very unlikely of OnePlus to degrade their camera. Lets see how it will work out once its released.
OnePlus will have to face a lot of competition this year. Its not their 10T releasing this year. Google Pixel 7, iPhone 14 and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra are also in queue to be launched this year. Regardless of that, OnePlus 10T looks quite polished and efficient from their previous phones. So there is something to look out for.
